Saracens Amateurs 11 OV's 0

The game started with Vees putting on a lot of well rehearsed ‘take and drive’pressure which deserved a try. Yet when we gained a penalty the kick at goal should have been taken given the following wind. Gradually Saracens crawled their way back into the game and some 10 mins before half time saw them take a penalty from far out to give them a 3 – 0 lead. Saracens playing with the wind on the restart caused Vees to concede a penalty which their able kicker slotted from some 50 mtrs out to make it 6 – 0. Play then flowed their way and their backs fed their speedy winger who outpaced Vees defence to score an unconverted try far out. The young Vees then found their second wind and forced their way into the Saracens half only to loose boisterous No.8 Tim Fretter with a serious ankle injury which shortly afterwards was to be followed by the darting scrum half Joe Breeze with suspected concussion. Then occurred a series of incidents which led to a Vee being red – carded and two yellow cards issued to Saracens which reduced the game to 13 – a – side. It has to be said that Vees battled in the last ten minutes and were slightly unlucky to loose out on a try.

And low and behold we take on the League leaders Hendon RFC at Cotlandswick this coming Saturday with the KO at 2 pm
